twenty-six years ago, the entire wizarding world had been plunged into a
full-scale war. the dark lord voldemort had been steadily gaining power, and
it seemed as though all hope was lost. then harry potter, the boy who lived,
destroyed voldemort once and for all. for the first time since the dark lord's
initial bid for power the wizarding world was completely at peace; all was well.
now, so many years later, the golden age after the dark lord's fall has endured
the test of time. harry potter's children, and the children of those who grew
up with him, are now in their final few years at hogwarts school of witchcraft
and wizardry, and all still seems to be at peace. while there is no dark wizard
currently trying to wrest power from the wizarding world, the old prejudices still
exist--it seems that there will always be those who believe their blood purity
makes them better than their 'impure' peers.
at hogwarts, where teens with such conflicting opinions are constantly in each
others company, it's no surprise that the house biases are just as strong as
ever. perhaps hogwarts will never be truly united—especially not as long as
slytherin and gryffindor students refuse to set aside their age-old hatreds and
get along. the drama of several hundreds of teenagers in one castle is bound
to get heated--there is no castle big enough to keep conflicts to a minimum.
it's almost as though a small-scale war is brewing within hogwarts itself, and
some of the teachers are thinking back wistfully to the days when the houses
had to cooperate to fight back against the dark lord's regime.
apparently, peace has its consequences as well. let's just hope that none of the
current students tries taking matters into his or her own hands--that would only
make things worse. it may, however, be inevitable, as, one after another, each
student adds more fuel to the fire.
fuel to the fire is a literate to advanced harry potter site, set after deathly hollows.
we don't really care about the canon timelines, because we want this site to focus
on the kids and the drama, rather than the doom and gloom of another dark lord
--which is why all the weasley/potter kids are in hogwarts at once.
we hope you enjoy the ride.
